Women entrepreneurs discuss the challenges and opportunities they face, as well as the importance of gender-based conferences.Women who become entrepreneurs enjoy the absence of a glass ceiling that may encounter in the corporate world. While some women will say that they do not encounter gender-bias in the corporate world, others complain that they have to show an extra level of excellence and competence to men and women alike.
At the 2008 National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) conference held in Phoenix, Knowledge@W. P. Carey asked women entrepreneurs what challenges and opportunities they face and their thoughts on gender-based conferences.
